Painting my toenails, apple pie in the oven, sipping a cup o joe, about to put in Lost In Translation and shove as much popcorn in my mouth as I can. Well I'm back from a snowmobile trip with my bro and dad. You're as shocked as I am. Yes, I actually avoided death. Narrowly, mind you, but here I am getting back into the swing of things with two new jobs on the go :) But before we move on, let me try and illustrate a graphic picture for you.

Mountain-scape snowmobiling is something the men in my family have been doing for years and the most dangerous thing I've recently forced myself to do. Before I agreed to this care-free getaway with the boys, I thought hey, this will be an excellent opportunity to reconnect with my brother and maybe even prove to my dad that the butch hasn't been completely squeezed out of me. Little did I know how dangerously close I would come to shitting my pants and death or serious injury. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy myself in low elevations and on long-stretching plateaus of waist-deep powder. The air was alpine-y and fresh, and the scenic beauty was incredible. Every day in the mountains is a good day. I did not, however, enjoy attempting to climb an icy 60 degree, 500 meter incline of terror, cease to move forward half way up, start sliding backwards, shitting my pants, flipping the skidoo 3 times, scrambling out of the way and narrowly avoiding a crushed face. After the second time it happened, there were moments when the sheer terror of my (what seemed like then) imminent death could've killed me. Or at least sent me into sweaty, sweaty convolutions.

On the plus side, helmets + very loud skidoo motors = very loud singing of Stevie Wonder & Broadway show tunes :)

I was downtown walking to the gym, feeling amazing, listening to my very first completed single when I realized that I'd dreamt about this. Cool, calm, relief.

Also the bus driver performed a full commentary play-by-play driving down jasper, as if he were driving a tour bus. I laughed my entire 10 minute bus ride. "Annnd coming up on your left we have Subway. Eat fresh". LOL! I could have died. When I stood up to get off I went up to the front, put my hand on his shoulder, thanked him, and told him he was amazing.

It's not that I missed the last bus going out of the city till midnight. I can deal with that. People miss busses all the time. I miss busses all the time. It's the fact that I woke up at 4:30am, showered, pampered, curled, and packed for a departure time which I then thought was 6:30am. So, in my Sunday brown plaid best, boots and barbie bags, cut to me at 6:01, strolling into the ever-sketchy downtown Edmonton greyhound station feeling ahead of the game and like I looked like gold, watch (fading to bronze, then to a dull rust) as the ticket lady points to a departing bus and says, "I sorry, bus depawts at seex. No bus till meednight". The only thing that kept me from screaming bloody fucking sunday was the thought, "at least my hair looks fucking. Amazing." Who knew I was such an optimist?

Last night for dinner I thought to myself; gorgeous salad, indulge on leafy greens. Keep it real, Matthew, keep it healthy. After I devoured the salad, I proceeded to stuff a chicken breast with old cheddar and saute it in sweet garlic deliciousness, and eat an entire half-loaf of bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. For dessert; chocolate covered coffee beans. Today I'm skipping the healthy pre-thought, opening my mouth, and heading straight for the rest of that loaf and everything else I can smother in cheese. But for real, it's amazing how much happier life seems when I have something in my mouth. HA. Speaking of, I was invited to go to Dj Tianna's birthday party tomorrow... at which I JUST KNOW I could get into some serious trouble. Why? I have a crush on EVERY BOY right now. Danger, Matthew. I mark today as the last day for both diets.

ps. I just searched google for a delicious photo of cheese to share with you and found THIS. *GAGS* I'm sorry, who let's a mouse hang out in their CHEESE?! It looks like it's STUCK in there! And then all I can think about is having to reach in there and DIG it out! Squirming all around. EW EW EW EW. Almost enough to get me off cheese again. Almost.

On Monday I decided it would be in my best interest to drink more water. So I've been forcing it down my throat every time I think about it, and it's been working. Drinking more water. What else? PEEING EVERY 3 MINUTES. Is this just something I'm going to have to get used to or does one's bladder become accustomed to more water intake, thus making me pee less? Is this just a question of bladder size? Is my bladder... small??

*runs to bathroom*
